2016
Like its immediate predecessor, Prelude (2015), this piece stands out as “a little different”—although perhaps not quite as much. The arpeggiations, exact repetition, and tertian harmonies are not quite what one would expect. And yet, this seemed like an obvious thing to write. The composition, a “captured improvisation,” grew out of the initial chord. I simply enjoyed these sounds, and enjoyed hearing them over and over again in various combinations.
