Composed for Aaron Larget-Caplan in response to a request for a lullaby, I loved thinking of this as a piece that, if successful, no one would ever hear the end of. Employing a spatial approach to rhythmic notation that would become increasingly common in succeeding years, the piece revels in the sound of the single guitar harmonic—one of the most beautiful sounds there is.
