[untitled] harp

2005

A straightforward composition providing listeners the opportunity to listen to the sound of the harp—one of the most beautiful sounds there is. Like many of my works for a solo instrument (Solo [2003], the 2004 piece for violin, Haiku [2006], etc.), there’s an interest here in simple shapes repeated with subtle variation—this kind of approach is a way to produce in music something like what is referred to as “touch” in painting.
